Full Immersion in Direct Composites

Anterior & Posterior teeth

#Direct #Composite

3-days hands-on course. All stages will be repeated step by step by the participants after demonstration with microscope.

Practical part includes:

  • restoration of large 4 class central incisor defect
  • central incisor veneer
  •  molar class 1 stamp technique restoration
  •  molar class 2 composite restorations

Day 1

Anterior Composite (part 1)

Lecture

– Material and techniques selection; ceramic/composite, direct/indirect

– Fabricate diagnostic mock-ups and palatal silicone indices to achieve precise incisal edge position

– Preparation for anterior composite restoration

– Color and optical properties of the teeth

– Science of shade selection as a practical everyday tool

– Layering of composite

Practical Part

– Preparing of the silicon key. Occlusion

– Isolation

– Preparation of the 4 class central incisor defect. Margin design

– Creation of the palatal shell and contact walls

Restoration of 4 class central incisor defect:

– Layering composite in stratification technique

– Creation of internal optical and anatomical effects: opalescence, intensives, characterizations

Day 2

Anterior Composite (part 2)

Lecture

– Morphology. Shapes of the teeth

– Smile design. Principles and rules of esthetics of the smile and anterior teeth

– Treatment plan and smile creation

– Clinical management of Class III, IV and V restorations

– Finishing and polishing

Practical Part

Restoration of direct anterior veneer

– Preparation for the direct anterior veneer. Margin design

– Layering composite in multi-layer technique

– Creation of internal optical and anatomical effects: opalescence, intensives, characterizations

Finishing of restoration of large4 class central incisor defect and central incisor veneer:

– Finishing of restorations: achieving the shape and highlights

– Creation macro-anatomy and micro-texture

– Polishing
